Proof of Your Love

2 Corinthians 8:24

When you tell someone, you love them, what’s the proof of your statement? How can others tell, whether or not your words are truth, or deception? We are living in a time, when words are easily thrown around, as if they hold no value. While many use words to deceive, and manipulate others, those who are true to God, and His word, are wise enough to not say things with deceitful intentions. What’s in a man’s heart, will be revealed more through his actions, not his words alone.

Holy By Nature

Romans 12:9-11

By nature, animals behave according to their instinct, and genetic make-up. By nature, water is wet, fire hot, and wind unseen to the naked eye. By nature, babies cry, birds fly, and stars give off light. By nature, men born of the devil, disregard righteousness, shun morality, and substitute love for hate, in their hearts. By nature darkness brings fear, and men perish for lack of knowledge. By nature, light illuminates in darkness, and knowledge brings hope. By nature, those born of God the Father, exude love, walk after righteousness, loathe all evil, and cleave to that which is good. By nature, the children of God are holy.

Walk, Work, Words

Psalm 15:1-2

“Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.”

*Judge your life, not by other’s opinion of you, but by your lifestyle, your works, and the words you speak. This is how God the Father will determine who will dwell in His holy hill.

Manifold Wisdom

Ephesians 3

While it is impossible to fully understand the ways of God, because His thoughts and ways are not like our own, it is possible to navigate through life by His wisdom. Man’s wisdom is solely based on human understanding, and knowledge of things known, but the God of heaven gives His people insight and strategy beyond what the eyes of men can see. The children of God suffer in the earth in similar ways as those of the world. For example, those who are the righteousness of God, also suffer sickness, struggle financially, and even deal with the tedious rigmarole of the workplace. Fortunately, God helps His children endure the struggles of life, while maintaining the proper perspective. Worldly men consider suffering as punishment, or lack of effort to be better. While there is truth to that statement, some suffering is necessary to keep people humbled, or protected from potential circumstances. God’s wisdom guides and protects the Saints through all their daily occurrences. Whether meandering through the grocery store, or visiting sick loved ones, there’s never a moment when we should refuse to acknowledge the manifold wisdom of God.

After The Fact

Proverbs 3:5-6

After we’ve made the mistake, then we wish we could have… would have done things differently. Hindsight really is 20/20, because we always see things more clear, after we’ve messed up. Why does it seem so difficult to make the right decision initially, in order to avoid harboring a guilty conscience? Oftentimes, we fall into temptation and error because we temporarily take our focus off pleasing God, in place of satisfying a selfish desire. On the contrary, when we acknowledge God in all our ways, or consult His opinion before making any decision, we will usually choose doing right, over wrong.

Gratitude

Psalm 136

For every image my eyes bring into focus… for every sound wave that beats against my eardrums… for every flavor that grazes my taste buds… for every scent that tickles my nostrils… for every texture my hands embrace… for every (good) thought that rests in my mind… for every (good) motive that settles in my heart… for every breath I inhale and exhale… I am grateful.

Look At Me!!!

Psalm 44:8

What has the world become? In times past, men and women functioned very differently than today. The father would typically provide for the family, while the mother turned the house into a home. Children were disciplined in the home, and in turn, were usually well-behaved in public. Modesty was common in the dress code of men, women, and children, and rarely would anyone feel comfortable enough to expose their body in public places. Sadly, the rise of social media has changed our society forever! Not a day goes by, where people aren’t seeking attention, by either exposing their bodies, or doing something unusual with their cell phone camera.

Why do so many people seek attention these days? Well, I’m glad you asked. The main reason individuals yearn to be noticed is, they have absolutely no relationship with God the Father. When God is first in a person’s life, they’ll no doubt place His desires above their own. Another reason people freely expose their personal business on social media is, they lack self-respect, and need the approval of others to feel relevant. What a shame. God made everyone wonderfully, and that alone should make all people feel appreciated. Unfortunately, modesty, humility, and self-control were placed to the side when Facebook, Twitter, Tick Tock, and Instagram became prominent social media outlets.

While it’s not uncommon for “worldly” folk to be drawn to such selfish desires, it’s sad when those who claim to be “Christians” are found yearning to get views on their social media platforms. The body of Christ was commanded to be holy, and that includes all conversation and communication. What you say from your lips, or type on a phone or computer, will be a representation of what you believe. If you claim to be righteous, but post unholy videos, then your claims are false. If you gossip, lie, or support unethical media, then you are just as bad as those who post it. As becoming Saints, we must keep ourselves separate from all things ungodly, and unhealthy. The world is expected to seek attention, as satan did when pride consumed him in heaven, but the church of the living God, should never be partakers of such unholy behaviors.

The Bible tells us to make our boast in the Lord. In other words, brag on God for being the creator of life, and sustaining all things in it. As frail humans, we should never allow ourselves to think highly of anything we do, because at any moment, sickness, tragedy, or any other unfortunate thing could occur. God is the only one who deserves attention, and the glory we place in ourselves, should be redirected toward heaven.
