Michal helps David escape

1 Samuel 19:8-12

What do you do when God elevates you, so that you can do great things for His kingdom, but your haters refuse to make things easy for you? I can recall a time when I was promoted on a job, and instead of congratulating and supporting my advancement, my coworkers criticized me for being too young and inexperienced. The last thing a person needs when venturing into greater pastures, is, for others to discourage them from proceeding. The reason men are unable to willingly extend support to those whom God elevates is, they lack real love in their hearts. Where love abides, good works are always in development.

In our text, we learn the full extend of a woman’s love for her man, as Michal proved to David that her love for him was real. Before his arrival in the king’s palace, David continued in his normal family duties. Unbeknownst to him, Saul was struggling with an evil spirit, that God permitted to influence him, after His Spirit was removed. One of Saul’s servants had heard that David was a skillful musician (among other things), and that the Lord was with him, so Saul immediately called for David, and the king embraced his presence at first sight (obviously, this was before his jealous ploy to kill him). Whenever Saul felt the effects of the evil spirit, David would play his instrument, and the king would be relieved.

Fast forward a few chapters, and we’re back to where we left off last lesson. After his fifth failed attempt to have David knocked off, the godless king was at it again. David proved himself mighty in war once again, as he had slain a great number of Philistines, but this awesome feat didn’t sit well with the king. As he sat with his javelin in hand, he waiting for the most opportune moment to throw it at David, in hopes of it piercing through the boy’s flesh, and pinning him to the wall. David’s skillful play of his instrument no longer had an effect on the king, as his rage grew beyond control. This was the third time Saul sought to kill David with the javelin, but was unsuccessful. This wicked king sought once to even kill his own son with the same weapon, because of his love for David. Heartless people will always do ungodly things. Saul threw the javelin directly toward David, but the wise lad swiftly dodged the weapon, and fled the scene. This, no doubt, was the last time David played his instrument, or hung out in the king’s presence.

Following another unsuccessful attempt to kill God’s chosen king, Saul persisted in his efforts to fulfill his plan, and sent word to the men who tended to David’s home, commanding them to slay him in the morning. As a woman, what would you do if you heard that your father sent men to kill the man you love? The wise and cunning Michal heard of her father’s plan, and rather than submit to her father’s command, she proved that the love between a man and a woman superceded the ill will of a wicked father. She quickly helped David escape through a window, so that he could be a few steps ahead of her father’s evil plan. David’s wife also took an image, and set it up in the bed as if it was to be David resting under the sheets. She risked her life protecting David, while deceiving her own father.

How far will you go to protect those you love? Can you comfortably sit idle, and watch as your loved ones are destroyed by evil men, or are you willing to stand up for, and assist those who fight against jealous and wicked individuals? It is the will of God that no one die in unforgiveness, but that all come to repentance. Unfortunately, many have become stubborn beyond reproach, and hard-hearted to the point our good has no effect on them. Rather than waste our energy trying to get them to change, we should direct our attention on staying true to God, and invest our time in those ripe and ready to receive God’s love. In no way am I advising that we give up on people, but that we don’t lose ourselves trying change men who have no desire to be changed. Some people will only be affected by divine encounters from God.

David marries Saul’s daughter

1 Samuel 18:20-24, 28-30

This lesson picks up where the last one left off, as king Saul’s jealousy and hate toward David grew continually. The reason for the king’s intense dislike for David stemmed from the fact that he realized the favor he once had from God had left him, and was transferred to Jesse’s baby boy. God’s favor wasn’t granted to David for petty reasons, but David’s life prior to being blessed as future king, exemplified all the qualities and character of a man after God’s own heart.

One of the greatest benefits of being full of God’s Spirit is, having access to His divine wisdom to utilize in our daily interactions. Wisdom is key in making the right choices and decisions, and ensuring that our actions and reactions remain in line with holiness. Knowing that king Saul had become his enemy, and uncertain as to the reasons why, David stayed true to the standards by which he was taught. As he assumed the role of his demotion, his character never changed, and one of Saul’s daughters took notice. Michal, the youngest of the king’s daughters, fell in love with David, and those around her noticed the bright glow on her face. This news was quickly presented to the king, who rather than bask in a moment to bless his daughter with David, intended to take advantage of this opportunity to use Michal to set David up to be killed. This would be Saul’s fourth attempt to kill David, and judging from his prior failed attempts, one would assume he’d stop trying. Unfortunately, his lack of godly wisdom disallowed him to think clear enough to see the error of his ways.

Saul commanded his servants to meet David in private, and sweet-talk him into thinking the king found favor in him to be his son-in-law, but David’s wisdom was far beyond their own, and assumed the king’s words were untrue, as he professed to be a poor man, and lightly esteemed. In other words, the king tried three times to kill David who was once a shepherd boy, now he somehow found favor in him to bless him with his own daughter? That was a load of bull, and David wasn’t buying any if it, at first thought. The king’s servants told him David’s thoughts concerning his offer, and this made Saul even more afraid of the future king, because he knew for certain that the Lord was with David.

It’s ironic how men plan to use something to curse you, but God turns it around, and uses it to bless you instead. Saul’s plot to destroy David, allowed for him to be blessed with a wise, and cunning wife, and more opportunities to prove himself wiser than all the kings servants, so that his name was much talked about. Even in all this, the king refused to give up carrying on his wicked plan.

Have you ever asked yourself, “why am I always going through trouble, and when will it ever end”? I have millions of times, but I’ve come to the realization that the devil really hates me, and will do all he can to stop my progress. Just as king Saul refused to cease from plotting to kill David, our adversary will strive daily to wipe us out, but God gives us wisdom and strength to endure until the end. Trouble only lasts for a season, but during those seasons we must remain true to God’s standard, and not give in to the pressures of those who seek to destroy us. The devil is no one we should fear, but we are to always remain girded in our spiritual armor, and watchful, because his attacks can be successful, but only when we let our guard down, and give him the opportunity to hinder us.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints” (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Saul fears David

1 Samuel 18:10-16

Have you ever had someone try to kill you (physically or emotionally), simply for being yourself? I’m certain some of you have, but God wouldn’t allow it to play out, because your life has more purpose than you could imagine. When men are fearful of your relationship with God, it causes them to become intimidated, and make futile attempts to block your progress, so that you won’t be able to prosper, while causing them to be overshadowed in their jealousy and selfishness. It’s unfair for a man to hate you for being obedient to God, while they willfully entertain sin, and reap the wages of their actions.

During the years after being anointed the next king of Israel, God favored David in ways men could only dream of. Being chosen by God as the next king is a great honor, and says much about a man. David was nothing like his older brothers who were brawny and great in stature, but his heart was pure, motives positive, and will aligned with God’s. The reign of king Saul was nearing its end, because his deeds had become self-centered, thus causing God’s Spirit to leave him. This same Spirit that left Saul, would soon guide David along the path of his next journey.

David had a history of true bravery while tending to his father’s sheep, and maintaining the flock was no easy task. His primary responsibility as a shepherd was the safety and welfare of the flock. His flock may have included as many as 1,000 sheep. David would graze the animals, herd them to areas of good forage, and keep a watchful eye out for poisonous plants, and prowling predators. He was also responsible for protecting the sheep from a lion and a bear. What a bold and brave kid he was! Shepherds were also responsible for minor injuries or basic medical treatment for their flock, especially since they worked in isolated areas. During lambing season, the shepherd would make frequent checks on the ewes (female sheep) at all hours of the day and night, and at times, assist the ewe if birthing problems occured. All these responsibilities were carried out daily, without complaint, and faithfully by David. God knew that if this boy could tend to his earthly father’s sheep in this way, he’d be a great candidate to lead his heavenly Father’s people as well. This is a lesson to all who feel that their hard work is in vain. Be faithful to whatever duties you are assigned to, no matter how insignificant they may seem, because God will honor your faithfulness, and promote you according to His timing.

After receiving praise and honor from the people for his victory over Goliath, king Saul became furious toward David, because the people gave more glory to David over himself. The same evil spirit permitted by God to influence Saul in chapter 16, visited him again, causing him to make two attempts (of 21) to kill David. Wait a minute. Why would God let an evil spirit control a man, when He’s pure and holy? Evil spirits come from God only in the sense of being permitted by Him to trouble those who are in a backslidden state, and persist in sin and rebellion, or to test a man’s faith, as in the case with Job. God never gives up on anyone, but allows time for them to come to their senses. Unfortunately, men give up on God when their desires take priority over His.

David’s fame had begin to spread throughout the lands, and if it continued, Saul feared he would soon have the kingdom as well. So, he monitored David with hawk eyes, hoping to prevent this from happening, but God had already planned for David to be Saul’s replacement. No matter what Saul did to make life harder for David, the young man remained humble, and behaved himself wisely, because he kept God first.

Men will rise against us in this life, because we decided to take a stand for holiness, no matter what. As the world continues its steady decline in sin and wickedness, the body of Christ must strive to behave themselves wisely in all their ways. Although we may not be appointed as kings and queens, we are still invaluable in God’s eyes, and have a purposeful life to live. Be faithful to your calling, despite who tries to stop your progress. Continue in God’s will, maintaining a humble attitude, and God will remove all those who intend to harm, or hinder your purpose.

Jesus teaches about spiritual discernment

Matthew 7:1-6, 15-23

The people you associate with on a regular basis will determine your quality of life, and the works you perform daily will determine the type of fruit you’ll naturally produce. Believers walk in newness of life, and portray the character of Christ, thus their fruit is always expected to be good.

The same Spirit Jesus operated in, works in us today, to keep us aligned with God’s Word, and motivated to continue in good works. The closer we align our lives to the will of God, the easier it will be to avoid falling into the snares of sin and disobedience, but as we drift away from godly wisdom and protection, our decisions and actions will slowly begin to become unpleasant in the eyes of our heavenly Father.

In the Spirit of God, resides all things beneficial to the believer, including power, love, a sound mind, wisdom, faith, and discernment. Such virtues are necessary when interacting with people in the body of Christ, and especially those in the world. Without love for people, and discernment to see past their facades, we would lack the empathy and compassion required to see their need, and offer a solution to help make their lives better. There are many who pass judgment on others based on their own wisdom, and fail to first judge themselves. Rather than attempt to pull out the twig from someone else’s eye, they should first remove the giant oak tree from their own. When we struggle to rectify our own issues, it’s impossible to see clear enough to help someone overcome theirs (this is in reference to judgment).

Love makes us mature, by teaching us to walk in humility, and seek the good in others, over the bad. Not only does the spirit of discernment help the believer in their day-to-day interactions with others, but it also has the ability to reveal the hearts and intentions of men as well. If there’s one thing that makes a good parent instantly turn to kill mode, it’s hearing or seeing their child being taken advantage of. Woe to that person who is guilty of deceiving a mother’s child… her wrath is coming.

Just as innocent children are oftentimes deceived by evil-minded adults, immature believers are, at times, deceived by men who preach false doctrines. Even in Bible times, men would present themselves under the guise of a sheep, while their motive is to devour innocent souls like a ravenous wolf. God stands at the ready to defend His children, but they must remain in His will, so that He can keep them safe, just like a parent can offer the best protection for their children, as long as they stay in their presence. When we ignore God’s voice, or leave from our parent’s covering (thinking we’re grown), we then set ourselves up to be sharkbait for satan and his evil crew.

The spirit of discernment gives us the ability to see through all things false, and uncover the root of satan’s plot. As we grow and mature in godliness, our spiritual abilities will also develop, and make us more of a force to be reckoned with. The devil and his gang are cowards, that prey on the weak and feeble, and any chance they get to turn a believer away from God, they’ll jump on the opportunity to do so.

Once you receive Christ in your heart, you are guaranteed a place in God’s Kingdom, so make it your business to grow daily in His Word, and utilize the tools He made available for you to combat evil and wickedness. Don’t allow anyone to cancel your reservation to spend eternity with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, because there are those who appear to be in God, but at judgment they’ll hear, “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (vs. 23).

Hearing and doing

Matthew 7:24-29

If there’s one thing we’re certain to experience in this life, it’s inclement weather. It matters not your location or area you inhabit, all countries and lands around the globe stay prepared for threatening weather. There are different types of severe weather that vary, depending on latitude, altitude, topography, and atmospheric conditions. High winds, hail, excessive precipitation, and wildfires are forms and effects of severe weather, as are thunderstorms, downbursts, tornadoes, waterspouts, tropical cyclones, and extratropical cyclones. California is known for its devastating earthquakes, Asian countries are familiar with tsunamis, and down here in south Florida, we’ve become accustomed to hurricanes. The key to surviving such major storms is to plan, and prepare ahead, but preparation must be done properly, to increase your chances of safety and survival.

When a storm approaches, news anchors and meteorologists become the most popular people on television, as they keep viewers updated on the strength, and location of the storms. Those in the areas that could be affected by storms are advised to either evacuate, or secure their homes and property in such a way that they’ll sustain minimal to no damage during the storm. While many take heed to the advice and warning from the news, there are those who refuse to listen, and suffer great loss in the aftermath of the storms.

Jesus gave words of wisdom to all who came to be in His presence. His sermons centered around the topics of marriage and divorce, love, retaliation, alms giving, prayer, fasting, trusting in riches, double-mindedness, worry and anxiety, judging, unbelief, selfishness, false prophets, and many more. Hearing, and doing what Christ taught made the people wise in the Son of God’s eyes. They were even compared to a wise man who’s house was built on a solid foundation, and withstood the terrible storms that beat upon it. On the contrary, those who refused to hear and do what Christ taught were compared to a foolish man who’s house was destroyed by the rain and floods, because it was built on a weak and unstable foundation.

When the storms of life pass our way, being rooted in God’s Word is the only sure way we’ll be able to stand. Relying on finances or the influence of people can only take you so far, but doing what God says will keep you on a consistent path of prosperity. I often mention that there will be times and seasons of testing, but it’s only necessary to reveal how pure your faith is, and to give you an idea of how much you’ve matured in your walk with God. When you break easily under pressure, it shows that your faith needs more developing, and exams will be assigned to your life to help get you back on track. When we stand firm in the midst of trials and testing, God smiles on us, and rewards us according to our faith. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, but doing what you hear is what makes all the difference.

Asking and receiving fairly

Matthew 7:7-14

Does prayer really work? When we ask God for things, seek His wise counsel for answers, and knock on doors we need opened, how can we know for sure, God hears us, and will respond accordingly? Those are very legit questions, and I’m glad you asked. As the children of God, we have certain rights and privileges unbelievers can never obtain. It is the will of God that His people prosper, so all they are required to do in order to receive what they need to succeed is, simply ask for them, in faith, believing. The number one reason prayer isn’t answered for the Christian is, unbelief. Verse seven of our text tells us that we need only to ask, seek, and knock, then God will respond. The first letters of each of those words spell, ASK, so it’s obvious that God wants us to make a request, in order to get what we want. God is like a father to a child, who knows what his child needs, but desires that the child understand that what they need is necessary, and in accordance with their father’s will.

Praying according to the will of God, will always net you a positive gain, because your desires will be in line with what He already desires for you. On the other hand, praying amiss, or for selfish and unprofitable reasons, will get your request sent quickly to God’s heavenly shredder. Christians who’ve experienced seasons of trials and testing, are fully aware that there are times when our requests are delayed while God is testing our faith and patience, removing phony people who could potentially leech off our blessings, or because the devil is actually fighting against what we prayed for, as in the case with the prophet Daniel. Daniel prayed to God for a thing, and God heard and answered Him immediately after he had finished praying, but his answer was held up for three weeks, as the angel who was assigned to deliver Daniel’s blessing was hindered by the devil, who fought to keep the blessing from reaching him. We’re living in a world of natural, and spiritual warfare, so it’s imperative that we don’t faint, nor lose heart while waiting for God to answer our prayers, because He knows our suffering, and will NEVER allow our faith in Him to be in vain.

When your prayers to God are finally answered, how do you carry yourself after? Do you flaunt and walk with your nose to the sky in arrogance, or do you remain humble, and show God your appreciation by continuing to walk in love? When we have what we need from God, it is still our duty to treat our neighbors as we would want to be treated. There are countless individuals who seem to have things all together, and in order, but fail to show love and kindness to those still struggling. I remain baffled at those rich and famous preachers and “profits”, who live lavishly, while their members struggle to keep a roof over their heads. The “Golden Rule” teaches us to do unto others, as we would have them do unto us (vs. 12). How can a blessed man, who claims to love God with all his heart, see someone struggling, but refuse to lend a helping hand. Even in moments when we have not the means to provide for someone’s need, we can follow Peter’s example, and offer a word of prayer, that can do more for a person’s life than silver and gold ever could. “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16b). Does prayer work? Of course it does, when done with the right heart, right intentions, and right faith.

How believers judge grievances

1 Corinthians 6:1-6

This lesson is aimed to be a continuation from the previous one, as the apostle Paul weighs in on the matter of settling disputes amongst Saints. Matthew recorded Jesus’ teachings that Christians are to settle their disagreements with each other, face to face. For those instances where following that simple command proved difficult, other measures were to be taken, in order to pursue a peaceful resolution. Paul admonished the Corinthian church to also settle differences on the church level, and avoid seeking counsel from man’s justice system. As I mentioned previously, men judge based on bias and opinion, and develop conclusions based on their own wisdom. Oftentimes, the justice system cares little about the well-being of a man, and even condemn innocent people at times. God lives in His children, and the decisions they make are based on His love and care for their souls.

Paul reminded the people that if they are to one day judge the world, then settling small matters amongst themselves on earth should be manageable. During the Millennial period, and eternal reign of Jesus Christ, He and the Saints, will reign over all nations on the earth, and help administer the affairs of the world, along with the twelve apostles. Not only will believers judge the world, but they’ll also judge angels. Say what?! Angels?! Yup, the church will also judge the angels. If Saints are to judge angels, how much more should they be capable of judging things that pertain to life on earth?

Rather than take matters to court, believers are commanded to seek wise counsel from the church. Although many churches are unreliable and unstable in their foundations, God has many faithful men and women, capable of discerning most matters that are brought to their attention.

Settle differences face to face

Matthew 18:15-20

One of the most critical moments the body of Christ experiences is, when members are at odds against each other, and resolution isn’t always guaranteed. We are to love God, keep His commandments, love our neighbors, and walk faithfully in our calling, but times will arise when believers will bump heads with each other, and need to quickly, and peacefully resolve their issue, before matters progress. There’s one thing the enemy takes great pleasure in, and that’s seeing God’s children fight and bicker with one another. Unity is key for the effective progression of the church, but when discord is sown, this can stunt growth in churches, thus causing members to scatter and possibly lose faith.

Jesus left an example in our text that shows how believers should handle personal conflicts, and settle disagreements. He said, if your brother, or anyone of the same faith, sin against you, it’s your right to go, and tell them their fault. This is to be done in private, and only between the two of you. News spreads fast, especially amongst the body of Christ, so God prefers to avoid exposing drama by keeping it suppressed to those involved. Jesus continued to teach, if your offender actually hears, and accepts that they messed up, then you’ve gained them, or settled your differences. If only this was the case in all disputes, then life would be much more peaceful. Unfortunately, not everyone is mature enough to own up to their mistakes, and in this case, Jesus advised us to bring one or two more people with us to confront our offender, so that in the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word may be established. It’s so much easier to simply admit that you messed up, apologize, then move on, but some people prefer to be stiffnecked and harden their hearts for reasons unknown to me. If you truly love God, you’ll make honest efforts to seek peace, and pursue it in all your human interactions.

In the age of social media, it’s rare that men talk face to face to settle disagreements, because they would prefer to text, or use Facebook and Instagram, but real man talk things out, and accomplish more by being in each other’s presence, rather than hiding behind a cell phone. For those who refuse to “man up” to their error in the presence of two or three witnesses, Jesus instructed us to take things up with the entire church. How embarrassing is that, to have your business exposed to the whole church body, when you could have dealt with things in private? To make matters worse for the offender, if they chose not to hear the church, they were to be treated as heathens and publicans. In other words, the church was not to engage with any religious communion with him until he repented. After he repents, the church is to forgive him, and remember his sin no more.

As a believer, what methods do you take to settle differences among your brothers and sisters? Do you bicker and hold grudges against them when they offend you, or do you approach them in love, seeking only to bring peaceful resolution, so that the two of you can continue fighting the good fight?

Godly trust leads to fruitful life

Jeremiah 17:5-8)l

Men place their trust in many things including security systems in their homes, financial investments for their funds, and medications prescribed by doctors for their health. Although it’s good to protect your property, balance and secure your finances, and monitor your health, much more can be gained when our trust is placed totally in God. When God controls our lives, we won’t have to worry about losing investments, or the stock market plummeting, because God’s resources aren’t affected by man’s systems. The economy of God harbors an endless supply of everything we need to prosper on the earth, and be in good health. Doctors do good in their profession, but up to a certain point. Where their research ends, God’s wisdom is only beginning. God has the power to heal all manner of sickness and disease, and he never runs out of healing. He has enough healing to go around until the end of time.

Trusting in man, over the wisdom of God, leads to a cursed life of lack, drought, and unfruitfulness. I’m amazed at how many people trust in television personalities like Oprah, Dr. Phil, and others with their lives and personal business, when their knowledge is limited to opinion, and does little to actually change people’s lives. Counseling is good, but without the knowledge of God, how much can you really affect a person’s soul? Similar to the previous lesson’s text, this text helps us understand that only when God is our primary focus, will we enjoy life in its fullness. It’s easy to get caught up entertaining the thoughts and ideas of men, because some actually present themselves worthy by using enticing words and manipulative methods, but godly wisdom helps us see past the falsehoods of man, and focus on God’s guiding light.

Every day, the believer should bring forth some type of fruit. Whether it be love, joy, peace, or any other beneficial godly attribute, our lives should be lived producing positive works and deeds daily. With God before us, there’s no reason we should allow anything to keep us from living a blessed and fruitful life, but be mindful not to give in to the opinions of worldly men over the all-knowing wisdom of the God who created all things.

Walk by the Word and prosper

Psalm 1

How happy is the man who lives his life as God intended from the beginning, who refuses to accept and go along with the advice of godless people, stand in agreement with those who regularly practice sinful activities, and dwell in the assemblies of men who boast and speak arrogantly to others. Such a man is able to walk consistently in godliness because he takes delight in reading, studying, and cross-referencing God’s Word every single day of his life. Just as it’s possible for men to watch TV, read a book or magazine, or enjoy the radio, scheduling time daily to read the Bible is not a hard task. One must only commit to studying the Word, and stick to it. I’ve known many who’ve binge watched godless TV shows for weeks. Imagine how much better a man or woman could have become, if they spent hundreds of hours studying Scripture, rather than being entertained by ungodly media.

The righteous man who makes God’s business his first priority benefits greatly from doing so. Just like a tree that’s planted near a river, and receives ample amounts of water to provide for its health, and consistent fruit, the man who walks by the Word of God will also be cultivated, and well-watered, so that he can maintain good spiritual health, and produce much good fruit. Not only will this man prosper spiritually, but everything he does in his life, including material, will prosper as well. Material prosperity is as much the will of God as soul, body, and health.

When we take care of God’s business, He’ll in turn, take care of ours, but this benefit can’t be enjoyed by those who walk in darkness, and refuse to obey the will of God. Unlike the righteous man who’s roots are firmly planted in the Word of God, and receive proper spiritual nourishment to bring forth good fruit, the ungodly are comparable to chaff, or the husks of corn or other seed separated by the process of winnowing or threshing. Chaff is considered worthless, and is driven away by the winds. That’s just how some are today, who follow after all forms of false doctrine. Anything that sounds good, they flock to, without learning the true nature of the teachings. There are men who purposely lie in wait to ensnare and carry away innocent souls with their hollow doctrine, but being rooted in the Word will prevent any of God’s children from being tossed to and fro by men’s false teachings.

The end of life for the ungodly is far from pleasant, and can be avoided. Unfortunately, many have been deceived by satan, and are unable to see the truth in God’s Word. As the righteousness of God, we, His children, are to let our lights shine before men, and when they see our good works, they’ll give God the glory, because we won’t take any credit for the great things He’s soon to do in our lives.
